When a non-porous and chemically resistant floor is required, epoxy and urethane coatings are a cost effective and durable option. These floors can be installed at a variety of thicknesses and colors depending on the specific needs of our customers. Aggregates can be added for decorative appeal or slip resistance. The process normaly involves preparing the surface by....mechanically grinding the surface. This will help to ensure that the coating will adhere to the surface by removing surface contaminants and opening up the surface so the coating can penetrate.
SoCal installs epoxies, urethanes, and polyureas depending on the floor requirements and turn around time. Fast curing products are available for areas that need to have a quick return to service.
Because epoxy and urethane coatings are non-porous and are chemically resistant they are ideal for manufacturing floors, auto repair facilities, food processing, and commercial kitchens
Aggregates
Aggregates can be broadcast into epoxy and urethane coatings to enhance their decorative appeal and to create slip resistance. Polychips can be broadcast to create the granite style epoxy look. There are many different colors of chips available and these floors are excellent at hiding floor imperfections. Colored sand is another popular and attractive aggregate that can be broadcast into the coating.
